What is Foundation Camp and who is it for?
Foundation Camp is Partners Dog School's 14-night board-and-train program for puppies and dogs who need reliable obedience and everyday manners. Your dog learns Heel, Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Place, and Watch through two-plus structured sessions a day, then a transition lesson and group classes hand the training off to you. It's the focused reset that replaces months of inconsistent progress at home.
Family-owned since 1997. 70,000+ dogs trained. 4.8 stars across 2,000+ reviews. Two Arizona campuses, Scottsdale and Cave Creek.

WHY FAMILIES CHOOSE CAMP
The Manners You Have Been Trying to Build for Months, in 14 Days
You have watched the videos, tried the treats, and repeated the cues until you are blue in the face. The pulling, the jumping, the not-listening-the-second-it-matters: it wears you down. Foundation Camp takes the daily grind off your plate. Your dog lives and learns with our trainers for fourteen days and comes home with the obedience that finally makes ordinary life calm again, walks, guests, mealtimes, the front door.

Every shape, size, and problem. The plan is tailored to the dog in front of us.
90% of the job is training you. Lasting change means handing you the skills, so family lessons are built in.
HOW IT WORKS
How Foundation Camp Works
Assessment and check-in. We start with an introductory lesson at our Scottsdale or Cave Creek campus. You meet us and see how we train, we meet your dog, collect vaccination records and history, and lock in your goals so training stays consistent.
Training and weekly demos. Your dog works structured sessions every day with a pro trainer and practices calm in a crate on the training floor in between, what we call modeling, plus supervised play. Once a week you come in for a 30 to 60 minute demo so you can see the progress and start learning the handling.
Transition to you. The most important step. Over a private lesson and your Pet Parenting classes, we teach you to maintain every behavior we built, so the calm comes home and stays home.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does my dog learn at camp?
Every essential obedience command: Heel, Sit, Down, Free, Stay, Come, Place, and Watch, plus loose-leash walking, polite greetings, and everyday manners.
How much does Foundation Camp cost?
Foundation Camp is $3,509, one transparent price for the full 14-night program. That price includes the board and train stay itself, about $155 a night of the total, a PD360 assessment and custom plan, 3.5 hours of private family lessons, 16 DaySchool reinforcement days, and 8 Pet Parenting classes. A $100 deposit holds your dog's spot, and members pay less through their plan.
How is Foundation Camp different from Behavior Camp?
Foundation Camp is a 14-night stay for puppies six months and up, energetic adolescents, and adult dogs who need reliable obedience and everyday manners. Behavior Camp is a longer 21-night program that goes after the root cause of reactivity, fear, or aggression. If the main issue is pulling, jumping, and not listening, Foundation Camp is the fit. If your dog struggles with reactivity or aggression, start with Behavior Camp or Transform Camp.
What does a typical day at camp look like?
Your dog works two or more structured training sessions across the day with a pro trainer, and practices calm in a crate on the training floor in between, which we call modeling. Repetition is what makes the obedience hold. Supervised play is earned as a reward, and your dog rests in a comfortable suite overnight. It is a full day of structure and warmth, not a kennel that sits idle between walks.
Will I get updates while my dog is at camp?
Yes. You get daily Pupdates with photos or video and a short note describing what your dog practiced and how they did. Once a week you also come in for a 30 to 60 minute demo so you can see the progress in person and start learning to handle the new behaviors yourself.
My dog has never been boarded and gets anxious. Will camp be too much?
For most dogs, no. The structure itself is calming: a predictable routine, a trainer guiding every session, and a quiet suite to rest in makes the stay easier than an unstructured kennel. Building a settled off switch is part of the work. If your dog carries deeper separation anxiety, that shows up in the PD360 assessment first, and we build the plan around it rather than hoping the stay goes fine.
How do the follow-up lessons work after my dog comes home?
Camp does not end at pickup. Your dog goes home with a transition lesson so you can practice the cues, leash handling, and home routines under a trainer's eye. Over the following weeks you use the rest of your 3.5 hours of private coaching, 16 DaySchool days, and 8 Pet Parenting classes to lock the skills into real life. After any camp, Pet Parenting classes stay $10 for your dog's lifetime, so you always have a place to keep practicing.
