This explains what we store on your device when you visit partnersdogs.com, what it is for, and how to turn the optional parts off.
Short version: nothing optional runs until you say yes. Our banner defaults to declined, not accepted.

What is a cookie?
A small file a website stores in your browser. It is how a site remembers things between clicks, like what is in your cart or that you are logged in.
We also use similar technologies such as pixels, tags, and local storage. When we say "cookies" on this page we mean all of it.
Do I have to accept cookies?
No. Only the strictly necessary ones run automatically, and those are the ones that make the site work at all.
Analytics, functional, and advertising cookies stay off until you turn them on. If you close the banner without choosing, they stay off.
You can change your mind at any time using the "Your Privacy Choices" link in our footer, which reopens the preferences panel.
What are the categories?
Strictly necessary (always on)
These make the site function. They cannot be switched off.

Our own consent cookie pd_consent_prefs stores only your four category choices and a version number. It lasts 365 days.
Functional (off by default)

Embedded videos
Many of our pages embed YouTube videos of our facilities and training. When you play one, YouTube may set its own cookies on its own domain, governed by Google's privacy policies, not by this page. Not playing the video means YouTube sets nothing beyond what loading the player requires.
Does declining actually do anything?
Yes, and this part matters more than the banner itself.
Two things happen when you decline a category:
- Google Consent Mode v2 is set to denied for that category before any Google tag is allowed to run. Our default state is denied for ad storage, analytics storage, ad user data, and ad personalization. We also turn on ad data redaction and URL passthrough.
- Cookies already on your device for that category are actively deleted. Declining does not just stop new cookies, it removes the ones already there, across the domain variants they may have been written with.
We built it this way on purpose. A banner that only stops future cookies while leaving the existing ones in place is theater.
Do you sell or share my personal information?
We do not sell your personal information for money.
We do share online identifiers with advertising partners. When advertising cookies are enabled, identifiers such as cookie IDs and device information are shared with Google and Meta so they can show you our ads and tell us whether they worked. This is a "share" for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We state that directly rather than hedging, because it is what the tags do.
Your mobile phone number, your email address, your payment information, and your dog's records are never part of that.
If you decline the advertising category, we stop that sharing. That is your opt-out, and you can also reach it from the "Your Privacy Choices" link in our footer.
Do you honor Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control?
Do Not Track: no. There is no agreed industry standard for what a site must do with the browser's Do Not Track signal, and we do not respond to it. We disclose that because California law requires sites to say how they treat the signal.
Global Privacy Control: yes. When your browser or extension sends a GPC signal, we treat it as an opt-out of advertising sharing, exactly as if you had declined the advertising category here.
How do I turn cookies off in my browser?
Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking all cookies will break parts of this site, including the Parent Portal and checkout.

You can also opt out of ad personalization directly with Google or Meta through their own ad settings.
But you should not have to. Our cookie banner and the "Your Privacy Choices" link in our footer are the mechanism we are responsible for, and they work on their own. We are not going to send you off to a third-party industry opt-out page and call that our opt-out.
What about the Parent Portal?
The Parent Portal requires necessary cookies to keep you logged in and to show you only your own dog's information. You cannot use the portal without them.

Our site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. See our Privacy Policy.
Changes
If we add or remove a tracking tool we will update this page and the date at the top.
