Behavior Severity Level
Severity: Moderate
What you may be seeing
- Lunging toward other dogs (or people, bikes, skateboards) while on leash
- Explosive barking that escalates quickly and is hard to interrupt
- Freezing and staring, body stiff, before erupting
- Hackles raised at the sight of a trigger
- Pulling hard enough to choke, twist, or knock the handler off balance
- Spinning in circles, snapping at the leash, redirecting frustration onto the handler
- Reactive episodes that linger — dog remains wound up for several minutes after the trigger passes
- Perfectly calm behavior with other dogs off-leash or in familiar settings
- Avoidance behaviors between episodes — scanning constantly, unable to relax on walks
- Owner anxiety that the dog reads and feeds off, creating a cycle of escalation

What Our Clients Say
“Apollo used to drag me to the ground when he saw another dog. I stopped taking him out past 6am just to avoid people. After Behavior Camp, we walked the Greenbelt last weekend and passed six dogs without a single incident. I honestly couldn't believe it was the same dog.”
“Everyone kept telling me my dog was just 'dominant' or 'not well-socialized.' The Partners team actually explained what was happening in his brain and built a real plan around it. Three months later, our walks are something I actually look forward to.”
