Behavior Severity Level
Severity: Moderate
What you may be seeing
- Inability to calm down in the presence of other dogs — whining, pulling, spinning regardless of how long the other dog has been present
- Launching at people in greeting — not from anxiety, but from pure uncontained excitement
- Escalating arousal that doesn't settle even after the initial greeting
- Mouthing or nipping during excited play or greetings, not from aggression but from loss of bite inhibition under arousal
- A dog who is perfectly behaved at home but becomes a different animal the moment stimulation increases
- Over-the-top reactions to the leash, the car, or any cue associated with something exciting
- Inability to hold a sit, down, or any known behavior in the presence of another dog or an exciting person
- Play that escalates past other dogs' tolerance — not reading social cues
- Barking or whining continuously in anticipation of greeting
- A dog who has been described as "too much" by other owners at the dog park or on walks

What Our Clients Say
“Nugget was banned from the dog park by unspoken community consensus. He wasn't aggressive — he just couldn't stop. Foundation Camp built impulse control I didn't think was possible in him. He can now go to the park, greet dogs politely, and play without being 'that dog.' It changed his social life and mine.”
“Guests at our house were starting to decline invitations because of how overwhelming our dog was. She was harmless but exhausting. Foundation Camp taught her what to do with all that energy when guests arrive. She still loves people — she just greets them like a civilized member of the household now.”
