Behavior Severity Level
Severity: Moderate
What you may be seeing
- Constant forward tension on the leash — the dog is always out ahead, always pulling
- Choking, gagging, or coughing from collar pressure during walks
- Handler being pulled off balance on uneven terrain or when an unexpected trigger appears
- Pulling that intensifies near interesting smells, other dogs, or high-traffic areas
- A dog who starts pulling the moment the leash comes out, before you've even left the house
- "Yo-yo walking" — the dog bolts ahead, hits the end of the leash, drifts back, then bolts again
- Walks that have gotten shorter or less frequent because they're too exhausting to enjoy
- Handler who has switched to a harness, gentle leader, or no-pull device but hasn't solved the underlying behavior
- A dog who walks beautifully in a no-pull device but falls apart without it
- Pulling that has resulted in injury to the handler or someone else holding the leash

What Our Clients Say
“My arm literally hurt from walking Beau every morning. I switched leashes, tried every harness, watched every video — nothing lasted more than two days. After Foundation Camp, I walked him down the Greenbelt and he stayed right at my side the whole time. I actually teared up a little.”
“I'm not a small person and my dog still managed to pull me into a fence. We did Foundation Camp and the trainers at Partners completely rebuilt how he thinks about walking on leash. Now I hand the leash to my twelve-year-old and he can handle him. That's how different it is.”
