Taylor Oosthuisen
Assistant Operations Manager building strong teams and client experiences at Partners Dog Training, with roots in Snake Avoidance training
About Taylor
Hello, I'm Taylor, and I'm part of operations and team development here at Partners Dog Training. My focus is enhancing our client experience and growing our internal leaders, but my heart has always been in Snake Avoidance training.
After stepping back from field training for the last two years to focus on my growing family, I'm looking forward to returning to Snake Avoidance in 2027. I love connecting with pet parents, sharing the vital benefits of safety training, and making sure every guest feels supported throughout their journey with us.

Training Philosophy
I believe good training and good leadership come from the same place: meet people and dogs where they are, then guide them forward. At Partners we use balanced training that we personalize to each dog through four stages, Teaching, Reinforcing, Proofing, and Maintenance, so the work fits the dog in front of us instead of a one-size formula. My part is making sure the family understands the plan and feels supported through it, because a calm, reliable dog at home comes from parents who know exactly what to do next.
Ideal Client & Goals
If you're a pet parent who is new to the Valley and haven't yet heard about the dangers of our local wildlife, I'd love to meet you at Snake Avoidance. I'm a Certified Animal Emergency and First Aid Instructor, and I'm passionate about keeping you and your dogs safe out here in the desert.
Experience
I bring five years of experience in the dog training industry, all of it here at Partners, where I focus on operations and team development. My heart has always been in Snake Avoidance, and after stepping back from field training the last two years to focus on my growing family, I'm looking forward to returning to that work in 2027.
Favorite moment: My favorite part of this job is seeing our passionate trainers excel in their toughest cases. It speaks to the dedication our team has for the success of the animals in our care, and being part of finding these passionate animal lovers and watching them grow and succeed is my favorite part of working at Partners.
Work with TaylorQuestions About Taylor
Rattlesnake Avoidance is training that builds a negative association with the scent and sound of a live diamondback rattlesnake, along with a flight response so your dog knows to quickly leave the area if they ever encounter one.
No. Defanging rattlesnakes for training is unnecessary and inhumane. Our rattlesnakes are homed with our team and treated with respect and loving care for their wellbeing, including reintegration back into the wild.
Every team member is chosen for a proven dedication to growing in the dog training industry. They start with Partners Dogs University, then slowly integrate hands-on training, teaching basic obedience throughout our DaySchool. Each new handler is paired with a senior mentor as they work toward becoming a well-rounded Partners Dog senior trainer.
