Amanda Johnson
Cave Creek Animal Care Technician bringing calm, confident care to dogs in DaySchool
About Amanda
Hi, I'm Amanda, and I've always wanted a job that let me work with animals. I completed a veterinary assisting program in high school, but after finishing college and coming back to Partners, I realized the veterinary path wasn't the right fit for me. Animal care and training was.
Now I look forward to coming to work every day, taking care of the dogs at our Cave Creek campus, whether they're boarding with us or spending the day in DaySchool.
What Amanda loves
Favorite programsGood care comes first. A confident dog starts with feeling safe.
Training Philosophy
A dog who feels confident and well cared for during the day comes home settled instead of stressed, and that steadiness makes everything else the family works on together easier. Amanda pays close attention to each dog's comfort and engagement throughout DaySchool, watching for the small signs that build into real socialization and confidence, so families can trust that the same calm, attentive care is there every time they drop off.
Ideal Client & Goals
Amanda's ideal client is a Cave Creek family who wants a familiar, attentive caretaker for their dog, someone who learns their dog's routine and personality and keeps them comfortable through DaySchool. She works well with dogs who are still building confidence and socialization skills, giving them a consistent, patient presence they get to know day after day.
Experience
Amanda completed a veterinary assisting program in high school, where she helped care for four to five adoptable dogs at a time, cleaning kennels, administering medications, and working on housetraining and basic commands. She also volunteered with the Arizona Humane Society, cleaning kennels, preparing meals, and giving dogs enrichment and baths. After deciding animal care and training was the better fit for her than veterinary work, she joined the animal care team at the Cave Creek campus after college, where she looks after dogs through DaySchool and has logged 1,459 behaviors caring for them day to day.
