    About Lexi

Hi, I'm Lexi, a Senior Instructor at Partners Dog Training. I moved to Arizona from Indiana on my own at 19 and found my calling working with dogs, and I have not looked back since. With five years in the dog industry, my passion for training has only continued to grow.

One of the most rewarding parts of my job is watching dogs build confidence, learn new skills, and develop into their best selves during their time with us. I also love working alongside owners to help them achieve their training goals and strengthen the bond they share with their dogs. Outside of work, you'll usually find me enjoying dog sports and new adventures with my own dogs.

    Training Philosophy

I train the balanced way we teach at Partners, meeting each dog where they are and adjusting to the stage of the work. We start by Teaching a new skill clearly, then Reinforcing it until it is consistent, then Proofing it against real distractions, and finally Maintenance so it holds up for the long run. I match the tools and approach to the dog in front of me, because no two dogs learn the same way. The point is not just a dog who behaves in a training session. It is a dog who fits your normal life, at home, on a walk, and around other people.

    Ideal Client & Goals

My ideal clients are dogs and owners who are ready to learn together, whether it's a young puppy getting started, an energetic adolescent, or an adult dog needing a little extra guidance. I love working with owners who are committed to building a stronger relationship with their dog and are excited to continue the training at home.

My goal is to help every dog build confidence, learn the skills they need to succeed, and enjoy the training process along the way.

    Experience

Lexi has spent five years in the dog industry, three of them with Partners Dog Training, after moving to Arizona from Indiana on her own at 19. That path gave her a hands-on feel for how dogs build confidence and learn new skills, and she brings that experience into every session with owners working toward their training goals.

Favorite moment: My favorite training moments are seeing fearful dogs discover confidence. One experience that will always stick with me was working with a shelter dog who arrived terrified of almost everything. Watching them gradually learn to trust, gain confidence, and leave our facility happy, social, and excited to experience life was incredibly rewarding. Seeing a dog go from simply surviving to truly thriving is what makes this job so special to me.

    Questions About Lexi

Absolutely. Dogs can learn at any age, just like people. While older dogs may take a little more time to learn new skills or change long-standing behaviors, they are more than capable of doing so. With patience, consistency, and the right training approach, it's never too late to teach your dog something new.

Yes. Training can make a huge difference for fearful and nervous dogs. Building confidence starts with clear communication and trust. The better you can communicate with your dog, the more you can help them navigate challenging situations and learn that the world isn't as scary as it seems.

Every dog learns at their own pace, just like people. The timeline depends on your dog's personality, the behaviors you're working on, and most importantly your consistency and dedication to the training plan. Some dogs make progress quickly, while others need a little more time, and that's perfectly okay. The most rewarding part is seeing your dog's growth and the lasting changes that come from staying committed to the process.
